Rant over. Why did you write this Des?As I write this there are over 19,000 articles on del.icio.us tagged with GTD(Getting Things Done). GTD is a work philosophy that revolutionises your workrate so much that you don't do anything except evangelise about GTD, and look for hot tips and tools that other people are using as part of the lifestyle. I am sure if you ever made it back to work, you'd be mega productive, but it never seems to work out that way. In a way it's quite similar to people who obsess about finding their cheapest petrol(gas) station, no matter the distance. They then feel the need to tell anyone with a vehicle about how much money they save. They seem oblivious to the all the time and petrol they waste travelling to and from their budget petrol station, not to mention the time and energy they piss away boring the ears off people about it. 
Also, what is with the latest round of "How Tos" about simple everyday things. How to Take up Running. How To Tie Your Shoelaces. How to Eat your Vegetables. It's mental. Does the water go into the item marked mouth? Or does the water run down the neck to be soaked up by the towel and then sucked dry? It's not very clear.
Of course, in writing your "one more" GTD post, you're contributing to the problem.
